Chapter 184: Love Engraved in Instinct
Several uniformed guards came in rudely and pulled Qiao Suisui up from the ground without explanation. Her body seemed so weak in their hands, like a light fallen leaf.
"The leader wants to see you." One of the guards said coldly, without a trace of warmth in his voice.
Qiao Susui struggled hard, with an unyielding rage burning in her heart. She knew that she couldn't just sit there and wait for death. Using her last bit of strength, she pulled out the Emei Spear from the system and fiercely stabbed one of the guards. The man screamed and fell to the ground, blood gushing out of the wound, staining the ground red.
But due to her pregnancy and long-term weakness, her limbs were weak and she was pinned down by the other three people. Her struggle seemed so powerless.
"Let me go! Let me go!" Qiao Suisui struggled desperately, her eyes filled with despair and anger. Her voice echoed in the empty room, carrying a hint of broken hope.
"Be quiet!" A guard raised his hand to slap her, but was stopped by another, "What if the leader investigates?"
The man cursed, but finally put his hand down. He grabbed Qiao Susu's arm roughly and dragged her out of the room.
Just as she was forcibly dragged out of the room, Anubis next door suddenly opened his eyes. Those deep eyes were full of confusion and pain, as if awakened from a long nightmare. Although the memory was vague, everything about Qiao Suisui seemed to be engraved in his bones, and every cell was calling her name.
His heart felt like it was being grabbed, and there was a sharp pain in his chest, as if something was tearing his soul apart. Countless fragmented images flashed through Anubis' mind, Qiao Suisui's smiling face, her gentle voice, her tears... All of these suddenly came to his mind, making it almost impossible for him to breathe.
"Sui Sui..." He murmured in a low voice, his voice hoarse and painful.
As if by instinct, his body began to change. His bones made crackling sounds, his muscles expanded rapidly, and the blood vessels under his skin were like burning flames. His nails grew longer and sharper than knives, and his eyes turned red, full of wild light.
He transformed into a wolf, his black hair gleaming with a cold luster in the dim light. Anubis growled, his voice low and threatening, like a roar from the depths of hell.
Then he began to bang on the iron door frantically.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Each collision was powerful, and the iron door was deformed and creaked. The chains on the wall also groaned under the constant pulling. Anubis' eyes were red, and he roared irrationally, and his wolf fangs flashed coldly in the dim light.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
He slammed the iron door again and again, and the dents on the iron door became deeper and deeper, as if he could tear it apart at any time. Anubis's breathing was rapid, and the pain in his chest made him more violent. His roar echoed in the small cell, carrying endless anger and despair.
Finally, the iron chain around his neck broke in a violent collision, and the iron door was also cracked by him. Anubis pulled hard, and the iron door fell to the ground. He rushed out of the cell with only one goal in mind -
Before the guards could react, Anubis had already pounced on them, moving as fast as lightning. His sharp claws drew a cold light in the air and bit one of them by the throat. The man's eyes widened and he let out a short scream. Blood gushed out like a fountain, splashing on Anubis's black hair and staining the ground red.
Screams echoed in the corridor, filled with fear and despair. The remaining two guards tried to resist, pulling out the electric batons from their waists in an attempt to subdue the violent beast. But under Anubis's violent attack, they had no power to fight back. Anubis's claws and teeth were like the scythe of the god of death, quickly tearing them into bloody pieces.
Qiao Suisui watched this scene in horror, tears welling up in her eyes, her eyes full of surprise. Her vision blurred, but at this moment, her eyes accidentally swept across the broken iron door, and in an instant, many days and nights of talking to herself flashed through her mind. The mysterious neighbor who had always been by her side turned out to be Anubis!
Her heart trembled violently, shock, joy and complex emotions intertwined.
"Anubis..." She murmured his name with a trembling voice. She saw Anubis's violent figure and his bloody fur. Each of his attacks was deadly, blood splashed between his claws and fangs, and the air was filled with a strong smell of blood.
Several guards soon died quietly in a pool of blood.
Qiao Suisui stood up with the help of the wall and tried to get closer to Anubis. Although her legs were shaking and could hardly support her body and every step seemed so difficult, she had only one thought in her mind - to get closer to him.
Her fingers trembled slightly as she slowly reached out to the bloodthirsty wolf.
"Anubis, it's you..." She whispered softly.
The wolf paused for a moment, and something flashed in its red eyes, too fast to be grasped. Although Anubis' memory was vague, he instinctively knew that the person in front of him was extremely important to him.
He growled, his voice filled with pain and struggle, as if he was fighting a fierce battle with his own wildness. His breathing was rapid, and his chest rose and fell violently, as if every breath was suppressing the wildness in his heart.
Qiao Suisui did not flinch, her hand gently touched his head, feeling his hot body temperature and rough hair. Her fingers gently stroked the top of his head, as if soothing a wounded beast.
"Anubis, I'm here. You are not alone." Her voice was gentle but firm.
Anubis's breathing gradually calmed down, and his eyes gradually softened. He lowered his head and gently rubbed Qiao Susu's palm, as if responding to her call.
Qiao Suisui looked at him with tears in her eyes. She had seen his beast form. His originally shiny fur was now dry and tangled, and his huge body had become much thinner. He must have had a very hard time being locked up. She didn't know what Anubis had been through, but seeing him not recognize her at first, and then trying desperately to restrain his beastly nature from hurting herself, it showed that his instinct deep in his heart was still fighting for her. For her, he was fighting against his own instinct.
She gently hugged his neck, and the wolf that had been ferocious and bloodthirsty just now was now like a docile big dog, quietly letting her hug him.
The bodies of federal guards were scattered all over the corridor, the walls and the ground were covered with blood, and the alarm was wailing sharply.
Qiao Susu knew that someone would come soon and they couldn’t escape.
She stood up, holding her pregnant belly, and the wolf beside her also stood up. She slowly walked back to the room, holding on to the wall, and the wolf followed her closely.
The guards who arrived later were so frightened by the broken arms and legs all over the ground that they dared not step forward. One of them carefully checked and saw the girl leaning on the wolf, curled up with her eyes closed to rest.
He was about to report it when he heard the girl's pleasant voice -
"Ask the leader to come see me."
