Chapter 92: A Bit Evil

Chapter 92: A Bit Evil (Part )
After Ruogu sent Xiao Qing out, he returned to sit on the rattan chair.

Sister Yang came back from a stroll, carrying a bag of oranges. She looked around and asked curiously, "Madam, has Teacher Xiao left?"

Ruogu flipped a page of the medical book and said nonchalantly, "He's gone. He said he had something to do."

Sister Yang put the oranges on the table, took out the most beautiful one, and peeled the orange while asking with concern: "Did Teacher Xiao make things difficult for you?"

Ruogu raised his eyes to look at her and said with a smile: "Why do you say that? Do I look easy to bully?"

Sister Yang tore off the meridians on the orange petals, and then handed them to Ruogu, saying, "Try this orange first. It has a very sweet and sour taste. You should like it."

Ruogu took the orange, broke off a slice and put it in his mouth. The sweet and sour juice filled his mouth. It was really good. Seeing Ruogu nod with satisfaction, Sister Yang spoke:

"Teacher Xiao looks good in every way, except that her eyes are a little evil. She doesn't seem like a girl who follows the rules. She has feelings for Mr. Shao, and Mr. Shao has fantasies about you. Am I not afraid that she will vent her anger on you?"

Ruogu shook her head and laughed. She stuffed the orange into her mouth and said, "Sister Yang is very good at judging people. It was indeed as you guessed before, but she has no ill will towards me. She is a wonderful person."

Sister Yang didn't quite understand, so Ruogu explained calmly, "For women like us who have traditional ideas, getting married and having children is a big deal, but young people nowadays don't think that way. For them, it's just about choosing a suitable person to have children with, and if they like him, they'll stay together, if they don't like him, they'll break up. Men are not that important."

Although Sister Yang is old, she is very receptive to new things. She suddenly realized:
"So she doesn't care that much about Mr. Shao, and just thinks he's suitable for marriage?"

Ruogu nodded slightly, "That's what I mean, so she has no opinion on me."

Sister Yang shook her head and laughed, "This difference in ideas comes from our different economic conditions. Teacher Xiao comes from a wealthy family, with someone to support her. She doesn't have to worry about survival, so she can do whatever she wants."

Ruogu agreed with this statement. After all, there are differences between people. Some are born Romans, some struggle all their lives and can only barely make ends meet, and some even have difficulty surviving. There is no comparison at all.

Sister Yang threw the orange peel into the trash can and said with a relaxed expression, "Let's not talk about her. This orange was bought by a small vendor who drove to the door. I don't know if Huaixi likes it. I'll send it upstairs for her."

Ruogu quickly stopped him and said, "Don't go up there. I'll call her and tell her to come down and get it. She's been lying there writing papers all day and her eyes are going blind."

Although Sister Yang loved Huaixi, she never interfered with Ruogu's education. She smiled and said, "Then I'll put the oranges here and I'll go to the market to buy some vegetables."

Originally, they had bought enough food for the morning, but since Xiao Qing was invited to stay for dinner, it would not look good if there were not enough food, so Sister Yang took out the food for dinner as well.

Ruogu and Huaixi both love to eat vegetables, so they cannot be lacking at home. There is a vegetable market to the east of Jishidiang, where stalls selling vegetables are set up from morning to night. When Sister Yang came out of her house, she happened to run into Aunt Zhou who ran a supermarket next door.

Aunt Zhou is usually too busy to chat and gossip with others. The only time she has time to go out to buy groceries is when she can chat with others about family matters. She and Sister Yang get along well. When they meet, she smiles and asks, "Have you tidied up your house? Is Doctor Chen busy?"

For the neighbors, no matter whose wife Chen Ruogu is, they will get along with them as usual, and there is not much difference. Sister Yang said happily: "My house has been cleaned up a long time ago, and our wife is still the same. Why are you going to buy vegetables at this time?"

Aunt Zhou walked very fast. She said in a hurry, "Something happened in my hometown. I was alone at home this morning. I had to look after the store and do housework. How could I have time to buy groceries? All I had for lunch was leftovers from yesterday. My old man came back, so I had time to go out and buy groceries."

Sister Yang envied her for having such a large family. Upon hearing this, she smiled and said, "You are also destined to be a hard worker. I guess there won't be any fresh vegetables at the moment. Let's buy whatever we have."

Aunt Zhou's family is not picky about food. They eat whatever she cooks, so she doesn't have to worry so much about buying groceries.

As they were talking, they arrived at the vegetable market. Sister Yang looked up and scanned the area. She pointed at the small vegetable stall at the back and asked, "When did the stall owner change? Didn't the original one stop doing business?"

Aunt Zhou squinted her eyes and looked at it for a long time, then said in a hoarse voice: "I have heard that this new woman seems to be divorced and lives alone with her son. Their son is sick."

Aunt Zhou deliberately lowered her voice for the last sentence, fearing that someone would hear her. Sister Yang was a little surprised and whispered, "What's wrong with her son?"

Aunt Zhou pointed to her head and said mysteriously, "I heard that he has a brain disease. Look, the child is tied with a rope."

Sister Yang frowned and looked, only to see a child about ten years old squatting at the woman's feet. His ankles were tied with cloth strips. He was playing with something with his head down, and occasionally jumping violently a few times, as if he could not stop for a moment. He was indeed different from a normal child.

Sister Yang immediately felt sympathy for Aunt Zhou and said, "Let's go to her place to buy vegetables. The mother and daughter look very pitiful, so it's a good opportunity to take care of their business."

Sister Yang is a kindhearted person who cannot bear to see the sufferings of the world. Aunt Zhou was pulled so hard by her that she staggered. There were not many people buying vegetables at this time, and many stall owners were not there. When Zheng Hong saw Sister Yang and the others, she immediately smiled and greeted them warmly:

"Big sister, what vegetables do you want to buy? My vegetables are fresh and juicy. They are delivered early in the morning. You can buy some and try them."

Sister Yang looked at Zheng Hong inconspicuously, and then picked the vegetables. Aunt Zhou had seen Zheng Hong before, so she was not as curious as Sister Yang. She picked the vegetables very carefully. Sister Yang handed the selected vegetables to Zheng Hong and couldn't help asking, "Your son looks ten years old, right? Why don't you send him to school?"

Zheng Hong tucked her scattered hair behind her ears. She seemed to be used to such inquiries and said without any emotion: "My son Hengheng has autism. He can't communicate with others and has no ability to take care of himself. He can't go out to attend classes."

After Zheng Hong finished speaking, she packed the weighed vegetables into a bag and handed it to her. "It's thirteen dollars and thirty cents in total. I'll round off the difference for you. Just give me thirteen dollars."

Sister Yang took the dish and quickly took out her phone to scan the QR code to pay. After paying, she squatted down and said to Heng Heng with a smile on her face: "Hello, little guy, what are you playing?"

Although Hengheng's ankles were tied, he was playing while sitting on a mat. His clothes were clean. He seemed not to hear what Sister Yang said and was playing with the toys in his hands.

Zheng Hong explained: "Sister, Hengheng can't communicate with others. He can't speak. Even when I talk to him, he doesn't respond. He can't do anything except get angry."

Zheng Hong's eyes were dim as she spoke. She had already accepted the reality and didn't want to struggle with it anymore. For her, just living with her son was enough.
