Chapter 51 Sanjiang's Thoughts & Available Next Wednesday
I was halfway through writing when suddenly I had something to say, so I might as well say it in advance.
1. About the author.
Let me get this straight. I’m not some big shot pseudonym. This is my second book and my first fantasy, stupid follow-up novel.
I have written 400,000 words. Although the result is good, I have to stop it due to health problems. When I looked back, the catch-up readers had already lost all the words, so I will stop updating indefinitely.
After that, I conceived this historical article.
The author has been reading online novels for a long time. He forgot the year he read the first book. The character was named Tianchen, and he was surprised to find that the man had a harem and collected girls.
After that, it seemed to be Fights Break Sphere. I was trembling all over when I read it at that time. It was the first time I felt the charm of online literature.
I have read almost every popular novel afterwards, and historical novels were my favorite for a period of time, including The New Song Dynasty, The Ruler of the World, and Lingao.
So much so that when I was in college, I once had the idea of writing a novel.
Unfortunately, I was busy taking the transfer student exam at that time, and then I was working on my GPA, so I never got around to writing.
It was only in the past two years that I had more years of work experience and had some changes, and I have a lot less time. Usually, there is not much to do except attending meetings.
The author is a person with a strong desire to express himself, and he happened to talk about stupid writing with others, but I just ignored it.
I wrote an opening paragraph that night and submitted it as a starting point.
It was a bit impulsive, but it also opened a door.
When the previous book was discontinued, I was still in the hospital, so I thought about writing something I like for the next book, even if it didn’t have any gimmicks.
Then I wrote this book.
I'm glad so many readers like it.
2. About achievements and gratitude.
I never expected this book to achieve the success it has today.
After all, it failed several times in the internal voting, and it was said that there was no gimmick.
If you have read my first single chapter, you will know that at that time I was testing the waters and adding it to the library. Two recommendations increased the number of collections by 100. After four rounds of recommendations, the amount of traffic attracted in each round was only half of the average.
Fortunately, smart push came out later and started to accurately push readers who like this type of article to me, and the data gradually improved.
During the fourth round of recommendations, the editor said there was a chance to strongly recommend it, so I never put it on the shelves.
Then we waited until this week and finally reached Sanjiang.
I have to thank all the friends who followed the reading during the new book period.
It’s really hard for you young people to follow the book (laughs).
3. About the plot.
First of all, let’s talk about the character setting. There are still many people who do not agree with it, or even question it.
What I want to point out here is that the character settings of historical figures are set by me and there is no room for discussion. They cannot be changed midway.
If you don't like it, don't force yourself to watch it.
Then, there are topics like "Is Gao Gong really that fierce?" and "Is Zhang Juzheng really that selfless?"
I have a very important creative concept:
From the perspective of communication, characters with strong willpower will gain people's heartfelt recognition.
Even if the outward appearance is stubbornness.
So we can see that Gao Gong is more powerful than in history, Zhang Juzheng is more of a perfect man than in history, and the male protagonist is always ten years old and still pretending to be cool.
They are all created based on this.
The key role must have his own ideas, thoughts, motivations, and most importantly, unshakable will.
As for whether these people were really like this in history, I don’t care, because I’m a novelist, and my first priority is to write an exciting story.
Also, I hope they are this kind of characters, not puppets who bow down to me. The next people to appear are also Hai Rui, Xu Jie, Li Zhi, etc.
Whether good or bad, even Xu Jie would have reasons to support his actions.
This may not be the historical figure itself, but at least it is the historical figure in my heart.
This volume is about the protagonist's participation in politics, and the next volume is roughly about the cabinet, in which the protagonist is responsible for the gradual reforms.
The process will be slower and the movements will be smaller, so the time span will be correspondingly longer.
After all, Hai Rui's last memorial took as long as this volume.
IV. About Update
To be honest, I kind of regret not dividing it into chapters.
Although it is one chapter per day, 4,000 words is a chapter and 6,000 words is also a chapter.
Others write 2,000 words per chapter, two chapters a day.
During the same period, new books were not put on the shelves, and basically all of them had 2,000 words per chapter. Those of you who follow a lot of books should know this.
So, I feel very wronged about this.
I can also divide each chapter into 2000 words, and then the chapters in the past few days can be divided into three chapters, and say that I have updated a lot.
Unfortunately, there is no turning back. In order to make the plot complete, I would write one plot point in each chapter and then publish it.
Whether it is four thousand or six thousand.
But having learned my lesson, the next book should have 2000 chapters per chapter.
As for after it is put on the shelves.
I wrote this book very slowly. My last stupid work was updated with more than 10,000 words a day after it was put on the shelves, and I had no pressure at all.
I have to revise this chapter three times, once after I finish writing it, to show it to people who understand history, once to show it to people who don’t understand history, and then revise it again before publishing it myself.
And you need to work during the day.
Although people generally don't come into the office, this environment is relatively inconvenient for creation.
The time spent on coding is also relatively less.
As for how much will be updated after it is put on the shelves.
There will definitely be more in the early stage, after all, there are some manuscripts in reserve.
But it’s hard to say in the later stage, either two chapters of 3,000 words, or a big chapter of 5,000 or 6,000 words.
After all, it's about making money. I also want to be a typing machine and write 20,000 words a day like an eagle. Unfortunately, I can't do it. I shrug.
If I want to force the word count, I can also do like my last stupid article and write 14,000 words a day, but inevitably the quality will drop.
I understand very well why my book was published in Sanjiang and is loved by everyone.
Quality is king.
I won't lower the quality just to meet the word count, that would be suicide.
No matter how much they scold me for being slow, there is nothing I can do. Human power is limited, and we must respect objective laws.
I beg everyone to be merciful.
5. About the Group
Recently, a new friend asked about the reader group.
I would like to apologize again here. Due to force majeure, it is very troublesome for the author to set up a group, so it can only be put on hold temporarily.
VI. Final
For this level of questions and answers, the author will take some time off during the meeting and try to reply to everyone as much as possible.
