Chapter 2 Mall
Pan Yingying had just fetched some water and washed up. She was standing with her hands on her hips, worrying about the new earthen stove, when suddenly a little girl's voice was heard outside the yard.
"Is my aunt home?"
Pan Yingying's eyes lit up. It was like a pillow was waiting for her when she was sleepy. "Hey! Here it comes!"
She answered and ran out to open the door. She found that it was indeed the person she thought of. She quickly put on a smile and said, "Finally you're here. Auntie missed you so much!"
Yu Chuner entered the yard and saw the mess on the ground, her brows slightly frowned.
Pan Yingying, however, acted as if she didn't see it and smiled as she pulled her towards the kitchen.
"Good Chun'er, help your aunt again."
Yu Chun'er was speechless.
She knew it!
Rolling up her sleeves, Yu Chuner accepted her fate.
Who told my grandfather to love my uncle the most? And the one he couldn't let go of the most before he died was also my uncle.
Yu Chaosheng is the late-born son of the Yu family. He is handsome and sweet-spoken. Old man Yu loved this son the most when he was alive.
When the children were born, they were named by a wandering Taoist priest. That is why the other two children in the Yu family were named Yu Lao Da and Yu Lao Er, and Yu Chao Sheng was named Yu Chao Sheng.
Unfortunately, Yu Chaosheng was raised in the wrong way. After studying in school for a few years, he considered himself a scholar. Unlike the peasants in the village, he spent his days idling around and not doing his job.
For the sake of his youngest son, Old Man Yu dragged his sick body and held on to his last breath. He asked for some money from his eldest son, who was the manager of a restaurant in the county, built a small courtyard for him at the foot of Taoyuan Mountain, and married him to the most beautiful girl in the area.
In the end, he died contentedly, but the Yu family fell apart because of this incident and split up.
Old Wang, who loved her eldest grandson, went to the county with the first wife's family. The third wife, who got a new yard, only got two acres of land. The spacious old house and the rest of the land went to the second wife. The ten taels of silver and two hundred kilograms of grain left by Old Man Yu were divided equally among the three families. The first wife did not take a single copper coin or a grain of rice, while the second and third wives each got five taels of silver and one hundred kilograms of grain.
Everyone said that the second branch got a great bargain, getting such a big yard and so many fields, while the first branch suffered the most, having nothing and having to take care of her mother. But Yu Chuner knew that the ones who really got the bargain were her uncle's family.
You have to know that all of Old Man Yu's money is in Old Wang's hands. The ten taels she took out were just the ones on the surface. She still has at least a hundred or so taels in her hands, not to mention that she is currently in good health and has no problem going out to the fields.
However, Yu Chun'er didn't think it was a big deal. Her eldest cousin was still studying and he would graduate in two years. He would be an official in the future and would have many expenses. Unlike their second branch, they only had two girls for so many years.
If little Wang had not been the niece of old Wang, she might have been driven back to Wangjia Village long ago.
"Aunt, I'll teach you one last time. I won't come again tomorrow." Looking at the aunt who was circling around her pitifully, Yu Chun'er frowned and took out a fire starter from the cupboard.
My uncle is well-known in the area for being idle, and my aunt is also a very famous weirdo.
Her appearance and figure were the best in the area, but her personality... She was arrogant and domineering, and no one dared to mess with her. It was said that children of her generation in several nearby villages had been beaten by her when they were young. She was nicknamed "The Evil Flower", and no one dared to propose marriage to her even after she was over 17 years old.
The old man was extremely satisfied, thinking that only such a capable girl could protect his little son who knew nothing but getting into trouble.
The two families hit it off immediately and got married quickly. Old man Yu passed away with a smile on his face on the third day after his uncle and aunt got married.
Pan Yingying watched Yu Chuner light a handful of hay with a tinder, then stuff the hay into the stove and put in two or three dry branches.
As the fire grew, Pan Yingying gave a thumbs up and said, "Chun'er is awesome!"
She said this with sincerity. She had tried several times in the past two days but failed. It had to be Yu Chuner! Yu Chuner resisted the urge to roll her eyes, let Pan Yingying watch the fire, added water to the pot, quickly washed the rice and cooked porridge, and then hurried home with a coarse porcelain bowl to get a small bowl of pickled vegetables.
After the rice porridge was cooked, she wiped the pot with an oily cotton cloth and quickly fried an egg for Pan Yingying.
In fact, Yu Chuner didn't want to come and work for her aunt, but she had no choice. If her aunt ran away because of hunger, what would happen if her uncle was left alone?
She really endured too much for her uncle's family.
After setting the table and rejecting Pan Yingying's enthusiastic invitation, Yu Chun'er started to tidy up the yard.
After Pan Yingying finished her meal, she washed the dishes and came out. Yu Chuner had already cleaned up the yard and was about to go out to help in the fields.
When Yu Laoer and Xiao Wang were doing farm work, she and her sister Yu Qiuer were responsible for picking wild vegetables.
Pan Yingying hurriedly followed with the basket.
After staying in the yard for three days, it's time to go out for a walk.
There were only thirty taels of silver left in the family. She didn't know how to farm. There was a severe drought in the north and the price of grain was shockingly high. Thirty taels of silver would not last long, so she had to go out and see if there was any way to make money.
God was kind to her and gave her a golden finger when she traveled through time. The thirty taels of silver and more than eighty kilograms of food were now safely lying in her personal space.
As for what Yu Chaosheng eats and does, she doesn’t care!
After locking the door, Pan Yingying went down to the fields with Yu Chuner. Just as they reached a ridge, they heard a "ding" sound in their mind.
[Ding! Wild alfalfa was found, worth thirty coins per pound! ]
A mechanical sound rang out, and a virtual translucent panel appeared before my eyes.
There was a green arrow on the panel, pointing to the ridge in front of her. Following the arrow, Pan Yingying took two steps forward, bent down and pulled up the grass the arrow pointed to. Then, a sentence popped up in her mind: "One ounce of wild alfalfa, worth three cents. Do you want to sell it?"
She suppressed her excitement and replied in her heart, "Yes!"
The wild vegetables disappeared, and three cents appeared in her hand. Pan Yingying quickly threw them back into the space.
She didn't delay any longer and squatted on the ground to quickly pull up the wild vegetables.
Yu Chun'er and Yu Qiu'er came over with baskets and saw that she was working hard to dig wild vegetables. They looked at each other and went to the other side silently.
[One pound and three ounces of wild alfalfa, worth thirty-six coins, would you like to sell it? ]
Pan Yingying: [Yes, yes, yes! ]
【Congratulations to the user for unlocking the mall! 】
The panel in front of him suddenly changed. The original scene of the field ridge turned into a page similar to a shopping mall. The dazzling array of goods in it were all modern things, but the prices displayed were all copper coins.
Pan Yingying thought about it, slid down the panel, and selected a lighter, which was priced at two for one cent.
Click to buy, and two red plastic lighters appear in the palm of your hand.
Pan Yingying looked around to make sure no one was noticing her, then secretly tried it. The flames that popped up told her that this was all real, and she immediately became more motivated.
After picking another three pounds and selling them, she began to put the fruits into the basket. By then, the two Yu sisters had already filled their baskets.
