Chapter 68 The King's Wedding
King Joffrey was about 15 years old, still a child, and had an evil look to him.
He stood up and said, "Everyone, the queen has something to say."
Queen Rose smiled and stood up and spoke elegantly: "We are so lucky to enjoy such exquisite food, but not everyone is so lucky. Thank the gods for bringing a fair end to the Battle of the Blackwater that just ended. King Joffrey has decided that the leftover food from our banquet will be given to the poorest people in the city."
As soon as these words were spoken, thunderous applause broke out at the scene.
I have to say that the new queen knows how to win people's hearts.
Joffrey's mother, Cersei Lannister, the sister of Tyrion the Devil, seems to be quite satisfied with her daughter-in-law.
Joffrey also laughed happily.
Only the little devil Tyrion said nothing, sitting there drinking wine with an expressionless face.
The female knight Brienne came to the queen and offered her heartfelt blessings: "I just want to wish you good luck. The country has been fighting for too long. May your country be stable and peaceful forever."
"Okay, thank you, I hope we can meet often in the future." said the queen with a smile.
Haitang Duoduo sighed: "This female knight is so tall."
"He's 1.91 meters tall and very strong. His fighting ability is at least at the level of a martial arts champion."
Ye Qi looked to the other side and saw Grand Maester Pycelle, who was over 70 years old and had gray hair, flirting with a maid.
Pycelle said to the maid, "No, no, you better come to my room so I can check it myself."
Queen Cersei walked up to him and said, "She won't go."
"Your Majesty, this lady is asking me for advice..."
Cersei looked at the maid, "You should go to Qyburn. He's very powerful."
"It's the Queen Mother." Upon hearing this, the maid immediately fled the scene, fearing that she would be stopped by the Grand Secretary.
The Grand Maester looked depressed: "Coburn? That unlucky guy, his disgusting experiments really bring shame to the Citadel."
Cersei looked disdainful: "Is it more disgusting than you touching a girl's thigh with your old hands?"
"Your Majesty, I am an upright scholar!"
"You pissed off my little brother, and he threw you into jail. What do you think would happen if you pissed me off?"
This is Cersei's son's wedding, and Cersei doesn't want anyone to disrupt the wedding.
Grand Maester Pycelle said, "I never mean to annoy anyone."
"You are irritating me right now. Every breath you take in front of me is irritating me. Listen to me, get out of here right now. Get out of the wedding banquet. Go and inform the people in the kitchen to take all the leftovers from the wedding banquet to the kennel."
"Your Majesty..."
"The Queen Mother now orders you to feed the dogs all the leftovers, or she will feed you to the dogs."
Grand Maester Pycelle left angrily after hearing this, and Cersei also smiled happily.
As for King Joffrey, he started to act up again.
He pointed at the acrobat at the banquet and said, "Whoever can knock his hat off will get a gold coin."
The people at the scene picked up fruits and smashed the man's hat, and the acrobat was hit and ran away.
Haitang Duoduo was surprised: "Can he be a king?" "You can, but you may not be able to do it for long." Ye Qi said.
Then, Joffrey continued to act like a demon, apparently trying to make the queen beside him smile.
"Everyone, make room. We have had enough entertainment today, but a royal wedding is not entertainment. A royal wedding is history. We should all stop and examine our history. Everyone, please welcome King Joffrey!"
As Joffrey finished speaking, a door opened.
A group of dwarfs ran out of the door.
The dwarf in the front plays King Joffrey, and behind him are Robb Stark, Renly Baratheon, Stannis Baratheon, and Balon Greyjoy, all of whom were characters in the previous War of the Five Kings.
The reason Joffrey had dwarfs play them was simply to humiliate the person he hated the most, the little devil Tyrion Lannister.
The five dwarfs were fighting comically in the arena, and the onlookers burst into laughter.
Joffrey looked at his uncle Tyrion with a smug expression.
Tyrion was a little angry, but he didn't show it.
Joffrey picked up the wine glass and watched the dwarfs' performance with pleasure. He was happy as long as he could make Tyrion uncomfortable.
Finally, the dwarf who played Joffrey picked up the wolf head representing the Stark family and placed it under himself, making an indecent gesture.
This made Sansa Stark very disappointed at the banquet.
Sansa is Eddard's eldest daughter. She was originally sent to King's Landing to marry Joffrey. However, her father Eddard was killed and her marriage was cancelled. Joffrey directly ordered her to be handed over to Tyrion the Devil. Now she has become Tyrion's nominal wife.
Sansa could do nothing but watch the dwarves humiliate her own Wolf family and tried her best to endure it.
However, she recently learned that her brother Robb and mother Catelyn had returned to King's Landing. She decided to write a letter to her family and ask them to take her back to Winterfell. She didn't want to stay here for a moment.
The five dwarfs finished their performance and Joffrey began his speech.
"You fought well. Take it. This is the champion's reward. But you are not the champion yet, right? A true champion must defeat all challengers. There must be someone who dares to challenge my authority, right, uncle?"
Joffrey looked at Tyrion.
Tyrion was speechless, and it was obvious that if no one was around, Tyrion would definitely go and beat Joffrey.
Joffrey continued, "If you come, they will surely have extra costumes."
Tyrion stood up with a half-smile. "The last battle was enough for me, my lord. I still want to save the rest of my dignity. You should go to the battle. What they show is just a poor imitation of your bravery in the battlefield. I have seen it with my own eyes. Hold the Valyrian steel sword, climb down from your high table, and show everyone how a true king should win the throne. But be careful, these guys are obviously confused by hunger. It will be tragic if the king loses his virginity before the wedding night."
Tyrion sat down calmly after he finished speaking, and King Joffrey was so angry that his face turned livid.
There was complete silence at the scene, and people were trying not to laugh, but they knew that the king was right there, and they dared not laugh, as anyone who laughed would be in trouble.
Joffrey couldn't swallow this breath, so he picked up a glass of red wine, walked behind Tyrion, and slowly poured the wine in the glass onto his head.
Tyrion sat there, enduring it silently, then wiped the wine off his face with his fingers and tasted it with his lips: "Such a good wine, it's a pity to spill it."
“It wasn’t spilled.” Joffrey looked angry.
Seeing that the situation was not good, Little Rose immediately called out to Joffrey: "Come back, my love, it's my father's turn to toast."
Little Rose's wit resolved the cold situation.
